I read plenty of good reviews about this product, so when I saw it on and it was on a BOGO 1/2 promotion, I picked some up. Argan Oil is amongst the newest popular oils that claim to make your hair super soft, shiny and stronger. As per folica, this product is defined as “One ‘n Only Argan Oil Restorative Mask is an intense treatment that helps to reconstruct, rebuild and strengthen the hair while restoring its elasticity.” To be honest, I thought it was just okay. It has a bit of a waxy texture, it was difficult for me to tell whether it was really doing anything for my hair because all I could really feel was the product on my hands. It definitely coated my hair, so it lives up to the name of being a mask. I was a little concerned that cetyl alcohol was listed second, and maybe thats why I didn’t feel like my hair was all juicy or soft after…

I love the smell of it, very fresh and clean smelling. And its very easy to handle in the shower as it comes in a squeeze tube. I didn’t really feel that much of a difference after washing it out. But I think I will stick with it until I finish both tubes and maybe change up the way I use it a bit……… maybe put a plastic shower cap over it and sit under the dryer for a little while before rinsing it out and see if it makes a difference. I’ll come back and do an update on it after the tubes are done.

Product Review: Shea Moisture

Product Line: Shea Moisture

This Organic Line of products is definitely a HIT! Whether your hair is dry, thick, damaged, thin, or whatever, they’ve got a product for you! They have color coded labels for your targeted hair issue. I used the Yellow label which contains items made from raw organic Shea butter. Here’s my quick opinion of each:

This shampoo is amazing! Not only does it smell good, I actually feel like it makes my hair feel satiny once I lather it up and begin to wash. It cleans my hair free of residue, almost like a clarifying shampoo but without the squeaky clean-dry feel. I actually do feel like it does exactly what it’s supposed to– Retain Moisture! My hair feels and smells so good after using it.

I usually put this in right after I rinse out the Moisture Retention shampoo and leave it in for a while. It has a whipped, creamy texture- almost like mayonnaise. So it gives a nice coating and good coverage. Its also very easy to comb through my hair while I have this in.

I finish off with the leave in conditioner. This is great for those who need moisture, but don’t want a greasy product. Its like lotion for your hair. Because my hair is very thick, I usually section it off and distribute it evenly. It also leaves a nice light scent in my hair that I like.

Overall I love this line and I really like that its affordable and easy to find. I use this on my natural hair, but not on my weaves. I think it may be a little too moisture potent and may leave a straight weave looking at bit stringy. So I recommend for your own hair only OR only for curly/kinky weaves that mimic a natural hair texture.

Have you tried this line? What do you think?
